In terms of writing of scientific work and image editing I'm proficient in LaTeX, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Matlab, Origin8, Adobe inDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. With respect to Civil Engineering technical software I feel very comfortable using Autocad, ArcGis, 3Muri, Tremuri, and 3D-Macro. Moreover, during my Integrated Master (MSc) course I also learned some basics of CypeCad and SAP2000. I have basic knowledge on the late Energy Balance and Passive House planning tool, the PHPP8.
Despite Portuguese is my mother language I have been learning different languages over the past few years. At this point I feel very comfortable in speaking and writing English, as the majority of my publications and communications produced in this language. Nonetheless, in 2010 I have completed the English B2 level course certified by the University of Aveiro (equivalent to the B2 level from the European Language Portfolio of the Association of Language Testers in Europe) with the final classification of 16 values (out of 20).
I was scout for 8 consecutive years, which evoke in me the awareness for voluntary actions, common good and life in society. Since back then I’ve been participating in several activities, such as, youth volunteering for forests, cultural and sport events organisation. I have participated in the Erasmus Buddy initiative and I'm an active member of the Couchsurfing community since 2008, having welcomed people from all over the world in my place, either when I was living in Brazil, Naples, Ispra or as presently, in Freiburg.
Sports practice is still a priority in what I consider fundamental for a balanced and sustained healthy lifestyle. As a Portuguese citizen, football has a massive weight in my sportive life. Seriousness, politeness, respect, organisation, ambition, persistence, endurance and humilty are some of the skills by which I have always been distinguished either when playing football, handball or tennis. Recently I started practicing surfing and snowboarding. The summer job as lifeguard, which I have carried during the last 5 years, was also importanto to improve my social responsibilities.
I see myself as a very communicating person, creative and motivated when I feel that people that I work with share the same will to do things the best they can. As the figure illustrates these are some of the soft skills that I want to polish up in future. My social and cultural background evoke in me important soft skills such as the adaptability to different work environments, organisational capacity, team spirit, communicability and creativity.
